The Aqua Park Apartments are situated about as far as you can go on the Peninsula away to the west of Kas, about a 15 min Dolmus ride. There are free busses laid on by the hotel, four a day, and the Dolmus is about every hour in addition, so there are plenty of opportunity to get into Kas, cost of Dolmus 125000TL. Apartments are very nice and all have large balcony, also well equipped. We had a apartment with 1 bedroom, and also beds in the lounge. The complex itself is very well laid out, lovely pool and slides overlooking the sea on three sides, also many terraces with sunbeds with direct access into sea. Due to being on the peninsula there is often a breeze which is very welcome, although this also results often in fairly rough sea. We did not go to any of the entertainment as most of it was geared to Turkish tastes, our children did enjoy the disco each evening though, although commented that same music was played each evening!
Kas itself is a wonderfull resort, very atmospheric. In the day it is quite sleepy, but comes alive at night, in a cosmopolitan way. Not too loud, very good resteraunts, too many to mention, never had a bad meal anywhere. Try Evies, French resteraunt for a posh meal with a difference when youve had enough of Kebabs, also many good Fish resteraunts as well. Even the street corner kebabs were delicious - and never had a bad stomach once - none of us! The shops seemed more upmarket than other resorts, and merchandise of better quality, less hassle than other places.Kas is a very safe place, young kids maybe 6 or 7 up wards would be playing around teh town well into the night, the odd friendly dog or cat would wander round. Bulk of town is pedestrianised.
Market - worth a visit- but very hot when we went. some good deals on clothes.
Trips from Kas - do the boat trip to Kekova, I wasnt overwhelmed, but it was a good day out. We had done many of the sites when in OluDeniz two years ago, and revisited some of these in a hire car - Tip - Hire a jeep not a car, preferably a battered looking one, or you will spend much of the time worrying about any damage to the car. The roads are appaling off the main drag, and the nearer you get to the sites the worse they become. Gravel roads, potholes, whole roads missing!! you will see it all.
Patara beach Saklikent Gorge Myra Pinara
all above well worth a visit
Anatolian sky - very good, transfers excellent, air conditioned coach maybe just a bit too cold at times!! Bottle of water given when arrived. Driver very sensible and controlled (unlike the mad taxi driver we had last time we went!)
